AC Installationin Miami

New central air systems sized by load calculation, installed with a permit and commissioned properly.

About this service

How an air conditioner is installed decides how it performs for the next fifteen years. Equipment that is too large cools quickly, shuts off and leaves the house clammy. Equipment that is too small never catches up in August. We size every system with a Manual J load calculation based on your home, and we never copy the tonnage printed on the old unit.

Every installation is permitted and inspected, the outdoor unit is anchored to meet South Florida's high-wind requirements, and the refrigerant charge is set by measurement.

AC Installation: common questions

What size air conditioner does my house need?

It depends on floor area, insulation, window area and orientation, ceiling height and duct condition. The rule of one ton per 500 square feet is often wrong for Florida homes. A load calculation gives the correct answer.

What efficiency rating is required in Florida?

New split-system air conditioners installed in Florida must meet the federal minimum for the Southeast region, which is 14.3 SEER2 for most residential sizes. Higher ratings cost more up front and use less electricity, which matters in a climate where the system runs most of the year.

Which refrigerant do new systems use?

Equipment manufactured from 2025 onward uses the newer refrigerants R-454B or R-32 in place of R-410A. They cannot be mixed with older refrigerants, which is one reason indoor and outdoor units are replaced together.
