Why is my AC running but not cooling?
The most common causes are a failed capacitor that stops the compressor or outdoor fan, a dirty condenser coil, low refrigerant from a leak, or a frozen indoor coil caused by a clogged filter. Turn the system off if you see ice, and call for a diagnosis.
Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?
If the system is under about ten years old and the repair is a single component, repair it. If it is past twelve to fifteen years, uses R-22 refrigerant, or needs a compressor or coil, replacement usually costs less over the next few years. We price both so you can compare.
